Sydney University Athletics Club’s (SUAC) stars aligned on Saturday night at the Melbourne Track Classic held at Albert Park in Melbourne, with four standout performers stealing the show by posting personal bests, World University Games qualifiers and or club records.

Sydney University opened the 2013 Sydney Premier rugby season with a clean sweep of Parramatta in the four grade and three Colts matches, highlighted by a 44-21 disposal of the Two Blues in the First Grade encounter at Merrylands RSL Rugby Park.

Former SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Murray Stewart continued in his winning ways at the 2013 Australian Canoe Sprint Championships in Perth, as he qualified for the Australian World Cup team after a series of strong performances over the weekend.

Sydney University’s crippling injury toll proved too great to overcome as the Students were defeated by 36 points in their round three NEAFL clash against the Hills Eagles at Bruce Purser Reserve on Saturday night. 

The Sydney Uni Taekwondo Club (SUTC) has dominated the Taekwondo NSW State Championships (TKDNSW) held on Sunday at Sydney Olympic Park, with Sydney University representatives securing seven first place finishes and a host of other competitors achieving personal best results whilst representing the club with pride and passion.

Sydney University’s first grade women’s hockey team will begin their defence of the Sydney Women’s Hockey League Metro I title this weekend, as they take on Glebe at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre (SOPHC) on Sunday afternoon.

SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Ame Barnbrook has teamed up with state team mate Matt Crawford to take out the SKUD 18s event at the Access Class Asia-Pacific Championships in Canberra over the Easter long-weekend.

The 2013 Sydney Rugby Union Premiership Rugby competition kicks off this weekend, with the Students from Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) taking on the Two Blues of Parramatta.
