The Sydney University Lions water polo teams are poised to create history by both claiming the Southern Cross Trophy for winning the minor premiership in the National Water Polo League.

After completing week one of the Winter Premiership, SUAC lead both the men’s and women’s events after showcasing a dominant display of distance running over a picturesque course at Scarborough Park.

Sydney University Women’s AFL side had a fantastic start to the 2015 season with a victory over UNSW, winning 89 – 24. This continued the teams enormous match winning streak across three seasons, stretching now to 35 games.

Sydney University’s indifferent start to the 2015 Shute Shield rugby competition took a step in the right direction at Forshaw Park on Saturday when First Grade completed a clean sweep for the day with a 40-24 result over Southern Districts.

SURLFC roared back to form in first grade with a 62-8 win over Cumberland Beavers at Henson Park. Leading 24-4 at half time the Lions went on with the job in the second half scoring a total of 12 tries and kicking 7 goals with Adam Hansen and Daniel Harrison leading the charge scoring three tries each in an impressive performance.

Sydney Uni Elite Athlete Jordan Girdis, returned from a journey to New Zealand last week a kitesurfing National Champion. Below he speaks about his trip and the experiences he had while competing in the New Zealand National Championships in 2015. 

Sydney Uni has several athletes competing in the Australian National Swimming Championships held over the Easter Weekend in 2015. The Swimming Club had a highly successful campaign, achieving fantastic results as a group and individually.  

On Wednesday the 15th of June, Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness hosted the 2014 Sports Awards, at the Great Hall. The night celebrated the amazing achievement of athletes last year and recognised new scholarship holders in 2015. 

Sydney University Athletics Club will field nine at of the 36-strong Australian track and field team for the 28^th Summer Universiade to be held in Gwanju, Korea, from July 3-14.
