Sydney Uni Wrestling Club members secured three gold medals at last weekend’s 2013 Australia Cup freestyle wrestling competition held in Victoria.

Former SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holders and Sydney University Women’s Water Polo Club (SUWWPC) members Hannah Buckling and Alicia Brightwell have played major roles in their respective teams’ successful seasons in the recently concluded National College Athletic Association (NCAA) Water Polo competition for women.

Back-to-back wins after an indifferent start to the season have installed defending Shute Shield premiers Sydney University back into the top six of the Sydney grade rugby competition.

Sydney Uni’s first grade goalkeeper Troy Rossiter has been selected in Australia’s 25-man indoor hockey team following a strong showing at the Senior National Indoor Championships held in Canberra in January and a three day training camp held earlier this year.

Sydney University Kendo Club members Kim Avina and Daichi Fujisawa won gold at the Korean Kumdo Championship held by the Macquarie University/Hanrimwon Club.

The Sydney University American Football Club U19 Cubs team are just one win away from being crowned NSW state champions after Sydney Uni  sealed their place in the NSW State Championship grand final with an exciting six point playoff victory against the Western Sydney Trojans.

Another strong four quarter performance from Sydney University has seen the Students ground the previously high-flying Ainslie in a thrilling Ladies Day NEAFL encounter on Saturday afternoon at Sydney University Oval No. 1.

Sydney University will look to string together back-to-back victories for the first time this season when they take on competition front-runners, Ainslie, at home this weekend. 

SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Samantha Faddoul is preparing for her third ITF Taekwondo Championships after her selection in the Australian squad that will compete in Spain in October.
