Sydney’s big wet didn’t do the grade cricket competition any favours at the weekend, with most matches abandoned.

Sydney University Football Club has two players in the extended 15-man Australian Men’s Sevens squad to contest the Oceania Regional Olympic Qualifier in Auckland on November 14-15.

Kyah Gray of the Elite Athlete Program has been selected to captain the Australian women’s indoor hockey team for the upcoming Four Nations Tournament in Durban, South Africa from 15 to 18 December.

The Sydney Uni Lions defeated the Central Coast Sharks 69-0 at Craik Park on Saturday in a convincing display. The Sharks had started the season strongly, but a mid-season injury to their starting quarterback had grounded their offence and made them easy prey for the undefeated Lions.

The Flames are currently sitting in equal first place on the WNBL ladder after defeating Townsville Fire 73-70 on Sunday 8 November in their second win for the week.
