Sydney Uni Athlete scholarship holder Sisi Zhang has been named in the Australian University Sport (AUS) table tennis team to compete at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 11-23 in Shenzhen, China.
Zhang is now studying a Graduate Diploma in International Business having completed a Bachelor of Science and Technology last year.
Her selection into the AUS team is well deserved after a successful 2010 season that saw her national ranking reach ninth and her state ranking reach third.
Zhang finished 37th in the World Pro Tour tournament in Japan, an achievement that she is rightly very proud of.
The Summer Universiade is conducted every two years under the auspices of the International University Sport Federation (FISU) with participating athletes being representatives of Australia and fully endorsed by AUS.
The event is second only to the Olympics in terms of a truly international, multisport production and has been the launch pad for a great number of Australian world championship, Commonwealth Games and Olympic athletes.
