Universities first grade’s poor effort in the field against Bankstown on Sunday in the minor premiership-deciding last match of the season proper cost them dearly.

Despite a commendable bowling effort from Universities attack, especially Nell Gibson’s 4-45, Bankstown were able to accumulate 234 off 49.5 overs thanks to seven dropped catches, including five off Emily Mifsud.

In a sluggish reply that was possibly a flow-on from their effort in the field, Universities could only manage 105 off 33.4 overs.

Opener Georgia Redmayne continued her stellar year and again top-scored, knocking up 34 off 78 deliveries.
