Fairfield City-Sydney University are targeting a win over NSWIS, the 2008 Division 1 State Netball League minor premiers, in the major semi-final on Wednesday night, to move straight into the grand final of the Waratah Cup.

The loser of the major semi-final will play the winner of the minor semi-final – between Eastwood Ryde and Manly Warringah – for the other grand final berth.

The semi-finals will be played at the Anne Clark Netball Centre (Church St, Lidcombe), with the Fairfield City-Sydney University match beginning on Court A at 8.30-pm. (Admission: adults $5, concession: $3, children $1.)

The final will be played on September 9, with the grand final at the same venue on September 13.

Meanwhile, Fairfield City-Sydney University’s Division 7 team has made it through to the grand final by accounting for Manly Warringah 48-37 in their major semi-final at the weekend.

Their grand final will be played on Court A from 11am on September 13, when they’ll meet the winner of the final between Manly Warringah and Baulkham Hills.

The Netball Club is hoping for plenty of support at the Anne Clark Netball Centre on Wednesday and at the grand finals on September 13.
