Sydney University took out the honours trophy for the ninth straight year at last weekend’s NSW Rowing Championships.

The honours trophy is awarded to the club that scores the most points at the Championships.

Highlights of the Championships included Sydney University rower, and former Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Brooke Pratley’s win in the women’s double with Kim Crow.

Current EAP scholarship holder Nick Hudson was unstoppable in the men’s elite single, where he was victorious by more than a length.

In the Men’s Eight Sydney Uni won its seventh consecutive Q L Deloitte Cup, and backed it up with victories in the U21 Quad and Pair events.

Sydney Uni looked to have achieved the extraordinary double – wins in the U21 men’s and women’s eights – only for this to be soured by a disqualification for the men’s team for having their cox 200 grams underweight.

This disappointment was not enough to stop a dominant Uni scoring 45.8 points – well ahead of Mosman with 32.
