The Southern Design Sydney Uni Flames have gone down to the Townsville Fire, who have rounded out 2011 with their second road-victory in as many nights, accounting for the Sydney Uni Flames, 85-79 in Sydney.
The Flames flew out of the blocks in the first quarter, leading by 12 points at the first break, before the Fire were able to rebound and register their tenth win of the year.
Sydney Uni were led by 34 points, on 15 made field goals, from import Amy Denson, while Lauren King and Alicia Poto each finished with 15 points.
Shanavia Dowdell led the victorious Fire with 26 points, connecting on an outstanding 10 of her 11 field goal attempts, to go along with 13 rebounds, while Jess Foley added 17 points and captain Rachael Flanagan finished with 14 points.
