It was a great weekend to be a part of the Sydney University Baseball Club, with both second and third grade claiming the Sydney Winter Baseball Premiership in their respective grades.

In the second grade Grand Final, Sydney Uni defeated Hawkesbury 4-2.

Jarryd Stanley threw eight phenomenal innings for the win to claim the Most Valuable Player accolades, while Wade Shipard closed the game out well, pitching the last innings.

Zac Horton was great at bat, with two hits and two RBI’s. First baseman, Dean Aldridge also had a strong game allround with 9 put outs and 1 RBI.

Following the match, Stanley was also named the 2018 2nd Grade SWBL Pitching Champion.

In winning the third grade Premiership, Sydney University made it three championships in a row.

Defeating Hawkesbury 2-0, Scott Moran hit a triple to drive in Dean Pousini and Sam Collins at the bottom of the fourth innings.

John Nicoll was impressive on the mound, pitching a shutout.

Congratulations to Sydney University Baseball Club on a terrific end to an oustanding season.
