An impressive five Sydney University Women’s Rugby Club (SUWRC) representatives have been selected in the Sydney Representative 15s squad.

Michelle Bailey, Tuaine Inamata, Ashleigh Hewson, Wellie Clark, and Iliseva Batibasaga are part of the 23-strong women’s squad that will take on representatives from around the country at the Australian Rugby Union National Championship, which will be held in Lane Cove from September 25-28.

Additionally, five of Uni’s junior players have been selected for the preliminary NSW U18s 7s squad. Sera Naiqama, Jade Fonua, Narmeen Mohammad, Mikayla Baker, and Ianeta Baker have been successfully managing trials, training, matches, and schoolwork this season and their hard work and dedication has paid off.

In other rugby news, SUWRC will enter this weekend’s first round of semi-finals in second place and keen to knock off 2012 Grand Final winners and rivals the Warringah Rats.

Spectators are encouraged to come along and support the blue and gold this Saturday at 12pm at Granville Park.
