Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness will donate all casual entry and ticket revenue taken in its three, on-campus health and fitness facilities this Friday 13 February in support of the Bendigo Bank Bushfire Appeal.

The initiative, which is projected to raise more than $2000 in facilities revenue alone, is being matched by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care and The University of Sydney, who will each donate $2000.

Johnson & Johnson Australia have already given generously to the Victorian Bushfires Appeal donating over $100 000. This donation goes above and beyond this, as a spontaneous gesture towards the Bendigo community specifically – with the ACUVUE Sydney Uni Flames hosting the Bendigo Spirit in a mid-table Women’s National Basketball League clash on Friday night.

Former Opals Captain and now Sydney Uni Flames spokesperson, Trish Fallon, said “We have seen already great support from our sponsors (ACUVUE) and the University of Sydney and now ask the public to come along to our game Friday night, where proceeds from door sales and cash collections will be taken throughout the night and will also be passed on to the Bendigo community” Fallon said.

ACUVUE, The University of Sydney and Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness sincerely hope, that by making this contribution directly to the Bendigo Bank Bushfire Appeal, they can provide some additional relief within the Bendigo community to those who have been tragically touched by the Victorian bushfires.

Friday night’s match will be played at the ACUVUE Sports Hall inside the University Sports & Aquatic Centre, Cnr Codrington St and Darlington Rd, tipping off at 8pm.
