Sydney University Swim Club is thrilled to announce that where crowned overall champions at the 2025 SMSE long course championship. Our Swimmers delivered an outstanding all-round performance across every age group and event category, finishing the meet with a commanding 5,467 points and securing first place ahead of 21 clubs across the Metro South East region.
Across the two-day competition, our athletes demonstrated exceptional consistency and determination. The final standings reflect the depth within the club, with Sydney University finishing ahead of PLC Sydney Swim Club (4,990 points) and SLC Aquadot Swim Team (4,930 points) in what proved to be one of the most competitive editions of the championship.
The SMSE Long Course Championship is an important milestone in the summer racing calendar, giving swimmers vital long-course experience ahead of state and national qualifiers. The range of performance we saw across every stroke and distance really shows the strength of our coaching program and the effort our swimmers put in day after day.
The result gives us strong momentum heading into the rest of the season. With major state meets approaching, the confidence gained from the performance like this is expected to be an asset for the squad. Winning the 2025 SMSE LC Championship is a significant milestone for the club and highlights what can be achieved through a collective effort. The squad now turns its focus to the next phase of the long-course season.
