The Sydney University Baseball Club will be aiming to retain the Uni Cup for the seventh consecutive season when they come up against the University of NSW on Sunday at Sydney Uni Oval No. 2.

The ‘Uni Cup’ is contested by both universities each season as part of the Sydney Winter Baseball League, and after UNSW were victorious in the inaugural battle back in 2006, Sydney University have triumphed ever since.

The first round of matches against UNSW were washed out, so this weekend’s match-up’s across 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades is a winner-takes-all situation.

Additionally, Sydney Uni needs to sweep UNSW in order to win the Sydney Winter Baseball League Club Championships – the club is currently placed first, ahead of Petersham by just 0.05 points.
