With the 2018 Road Nationals fast approaching, Sydney Uni has announced a new women’s cycling team, Sydney Uni – Staminade.

Previously known as NSWIS – Sydney Uni, the freshly formed elite women’s cycling team will compete in the 2018 National Road Series and other selected domestic and international events thanks to the generous support of Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness, Sydney Uni Velo Club and new naming sponsor – Staminade, alongside loyal sponsors Trek Bicycles and Park Bikes.

Sydney University aims to create a sustainable NSW-based race team that will advance female athlete development, and provide academic support to riders. The team will provide elite experience and development opportunities to some of the most promising riders in the state.

The dynamic 10 rider roster of NSW and Sydney based riders includes;

Abby Sneddon

Amy Vesty

Angela Smith

Chloe Heffernan

Emma Roberts

Emily Watts

Georgia Whitehouse

Gina Ricardo

Jade Colligan

Megan Scott

The University of Sydney and its sporting bodies have been promoting inclusion and diversity in education, research and sport for the past 160 years and managing a new team takes this commitment a step further.

Sydney Uni – Staminade will kick off the 2018 road season with an action packed January, racing at the National Road Championships, Santos Tour Down Under, Cadel Evans Road Race, and the Herald Sun Tour, alongside some of the best professional women’s teams in the world.
