A number of Sydney University swimmers have been selected to represent their country at the World University Games to be held in South Korea in July.

Kieran Qaium, a 22 year old rising star of the sport has come off the back of an impressive Australian Championship meet in April and will be looking to continue his form into the University Games. He swims butterfly and competed in the 50m, 100m 200m, medley and relay freestyle in the Easter competition just past.

Kieran will be joined by Hayley Abood another impressive athlete who performed well at the Australian Championships in her preferred event of backstroke. Both these athletes will represent Australia, while their Sydney University coach Scott Talbot will spearhead the team as one of five coaches.

Also joining Qaium and Abood at the World University Games will be Sydney University athletes Eric Van Dooran who will represent Switzerland and Mitch Donaldson who has been selected in the New Zealand team.

We congratulate our athletes for their impressive efforts and wish them the best of luck in their upcoming competitions.
