Sydney University Swimming Club will have 10 representatives at the Speedo Sprint finals, competing against swimmers from across NSW and ACT, on Sunday.

The club was represented by 60 junior members aged 8-13 years at the Metro South East (MetSEA) Speedo Sprint heats at SOPAC on Saturday, February 5.

Coach Vanessa Smith said MetSEA is the biggest and most competitive area in NSW, so to have 10 members qualify for the final series was a great achievement.

Sydney University finished with many personal best times, medals and, most importantly, very happy swimmers.

It was a great experience for the first-time swimmers who had never competed at an area meet before nor swum in the SOPAC pool.

Finalists included:

8 years            Kaoru Varlamov             50m breaststroke (5th).

Congratulations to Kaoru, who with his coach Tegan Miller, will attend his first Speedo Sprints final.
