Two Sydney Uni Wrestling Club members will compete in the Australian School Age Wrestling Championships in Perth, this weekend.

Jayden Lawrence shall be competing in two divisions – the school age (14-15 years) at 64kgs and the cadets (16-17 years) at 63kgs.

‘At 57kgs he will not be cutting his weight, as he needs the challenge,’ said SUWC President Jahangir Shagaev.

‘We have travelled the world with our son Jayden and every single coach he has trained under has said he is Olympic World Champion material, with the right training. He has been Australia National champion every year since 2005,’ said Mr & Mrs Lawrence.

‘Jayden Lawrence is one of the club’s rising stars,’ said Shagaev.

16 year old Nathan Galaway shall also be competing at the Australian School Age Wrestling Championships, at 71kgs.

Galaway was a gold medallist at the NSW Championships and a silver medallist at the Australian Championships, in the cadet 69kgs category.

Both boys have had some impressive wins prior to the competition and are in a good position to come away with gold.
