The Sydney Uni Velo Club (SUVelo) has continued to enhance its ongoing commitment to develop and support women’s racing, after taking up co-naming rights on a women’s team that will race in both the NSW Grand Prix and Bay Classic.
Known as Roxsolt Sydney Uni, the team will comprise of both well-known international and local riders, including SUVelo women’s race team members Gina Ricardo and Lisa Antill.
Ricardo is also a SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder, studying a Bachelor of Commerce at The University of Sydney.
The team will be led by Commonwealth Games bronze medalist and Olympic Games representative, Chloe Hosking (Hitec products). She will be joined by Sarah Roy (Vienne Futuroscope), Lucy Martin (Faren Kuota), Lauren Kitchen (Hitec Products), and Brittany Lindores (Bikebug).
The team will race in a Sydney Uni Velo jersey – providing a focus on both the club and its sponsors, including national television coverage on Channel 9 and SBS.
The NSW Grand Prix will take place this year, on Nov 30 – Dec1, while the Bay Classic will be staged from Jan 2 – 5 in 2014.
