The SUAC women have won their sixth consecutive Winter Premiership with two rounds of the competition remaining. The performance by the SUAC women across the 10 round competition may well be the most dominant performance by any club in the competition’s history.

SUAC’s women won 7 out of a possible 8 events contested to date and currently have an unassailable lead of 56 points ahead of Athletics Easts. Wins came in the Allcomers 7km, Sydney 10, Cross Country Relays, NSW Cross Country Championships, NSW Short Course, NSW Running Festival, and NSW Road Relays.

It was a massive team effort for the SUAC women with no fewer than 23 athletes pitching in to win the premiership. They included Melinda Witchard, Holly Campbell, Emily Augustine, Liv Sutton, Larissa Stanley, Marina Carrier, Sarah Marvin, Ane Bakken Hodt, June Bakken Hodt, Beth Croft, Erin Blundell, Alex Raine, Lara Hamilton, Elise Abood, Audrey Hall, Paige Campbell, Catherine Heil, Emily Brichacek, Kristine Wong, Annelise Isaacs, Abbey Connor, Caitlin Fowlds and Cheryl Chan.

SUAC’s Holly Campbell now leads the NSW Distance runner of the year competition with other prominent SUAC athletes Lara Hamilton sitting 3rd and Paige Campbell equal 4th with two rounds to go.

In the men’s competition the SUAC men are currently placed 2nd to Bankstown Sports with the half marathon and marathon competitions remaining. The SUAC men have won the winter premiership for 7 straight years and have competed admirably against a tlented Bankstown line up this season.

SUAC athletes competed with distinction at the City2Surf over the weekend. SUAC’s best ever distance athlete James Nipperess was 3rd missing the club record by only 10 seconds in the process, Russell Dessaix-Chin was 9th. In the women’s race Beth Croft had her best ever performance to finish 9th in a personal best.
