Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) has 11 athletes bound for Taipei to compete at the 29th Summer Universiade (2017 World University Games) this August. 

Among the selected athletes are Rio Olympians Michelle Jenneke (100m hurdles) and Jenny Blundell (1500m & 5000m), Angus Armstrong (Pole Vault) and 2015 World Champions representative Nicholas Hough (110m hurdles).

Other SUAC representatives include Larissa Pasternatsky (4x100m relay), Jess Stafford (4x400m relay), Nicola McDermott (High Jump), Paige Campbell (3000m steeplechase), Elizabeth Clay (100m hurdles) and Rohan Browning, who will join returning Uniroo and Elite Athlete Program member Jin Su Jung for the Men’s 4x100m. Browning will also run in the 200m and Jung, the 100m.

Since 1937, the Club has seen 40 of its athletes selected to compete at World University Games level, with an incredible 30 athletes selected from 2011 to present.

The Games will take place from 19 August to 30 August 2017.

*Three-time representative and SUAC athlete James Nipperess was included in the Uniroos team but has withdrawn.
