On the 11th October athletes from the Lions Blue in the level 1/2 coed division and Lions Gold in the level 3/4 coed division came together to film their routines for the AASCF Spring Carnival competition.

Despite a disruptive training schedule due to COVID-19, the teams demonstrated their hard work with two outstanding routines.

Lions Blue, mainly filled with athletes completely new to cheer in 2020, ‘hit zero’. Receiving no deductions put them in a good place against their biggest competitor, the Macquarie University Warriors.

Lions Gold received one building fall deduction and a time deduction but their strong crowd leading gave the team hope for a good placing. Overall, the athletes were proud of their performance, especially after an uncertain year.

On the 28th October, the Australian All-Star Cheer Federation presented the results. Both teams secured 1st place in their university divisions. Lions Gold also received runner-up University Grand Champions. Proud of their accomplishments so far, the teams are working hard to upgrade and perfect their routines in time for the national competitions in November.

A special thanks to coaches, Marty Ly, Michele Ducquet, and Tim Hewitt for their hard work and upmost enthusiasm.
