Sydney University wrapped up the Sydney Grade Cricket Club Championship and the First Grade minor premiership despite losing to Bankstown in the main grade at the weekend.
First Grade finished on 81 competition points in the Belvidere Cup, suffering two losses in the 15 rounds, to claim the minor premiership. Penrith (66), Randwick-Petersham (61), Mosman (58), Manly-Warringah (55) and Bankstown (55) make up the top six.
SUCC finished with 1458 points to claim the Club Championship, with Northern District (1268) and Penrith (1230) the closest contenders.
The Qualifying Finals will be held this Saturday and Sunday, with Sydney University hosting Bankstown at Sydney University No.1 Oval. Play starts at 10am on both days.
In other First Grade qualifying finals, Penrith will host Manly-Warringah at Howell Oval, and Randwick-Petersham will host Mosman at Coogee Oval.
Semi-finals will be played on March 29 and 30, with the three-day final scheduled for April 4, 5 and 6.
Sydney University Second Grade also finished the season as minor premiers, finishing the competition proper on 86 points, well of Northern District (67), Gordon (66), St George (65), Sydney 60 and Mosman (56), who made up the top six.
Sydney University Thirds finished second on the competition ladder on countback from Sydney. Both teams finished on 70 points, with Northern District (69), Manly-Warringah (69), Sutherland (66) and Gordon (66) making up a tight-knit top six.
The Students finished 14th in Fourth Grade and 8th in Fifth Grade.
Gordon finished with the minor premiership in the Metropolitan Cup competition on 88 points, with Sydney University (73), Blacktown (69), Western Suburbs (67), Penrith (60) and Fairfield-Liverpool (53) making up the top six going into the qualifying finals.
