The Sydney University Australian National Football Club (SUANFC) experienced one of its most successful weekends in recent memory, recording six wins from seven games in miserable conditions across Sydney.

Arguably the bitterest rivalry in the NEAFL competition came to a head for the first time in 2014, as Sydney Uni defeated Sydney Hills by 22 points away from home at Bruce Purser Oval. The result arrested a recent record of just one win from the last seven fixtures against Hills.

The Students started the stronger of the two sides and never relinquished their quarter time lead, leading at every break to comfortably win 16.7.103 to 12.9.81 and record their second win from as many fixtures in this seasons NEAFL competition.

Tim Barrett starred with four goals, whilst Thomas Elkington and Ryan Brabazon each added three majors.

This Easter Saturday is the NEAFL side’s first home game of the season at Drummoyne Oval and it’s also the debut of the clubs new initiative ‘Under the Marquee’. Arrive from 12pm to participate in the following activities: a jumping castle, footy skills for kids and an Easter egg hunt. Bounce down is at 2pm.

Sydney Uni also recorded wins in the Premier Division, Division Two, Division Three, Division Five and Under 19’s. The Division Four team recorded the clubs only loss of the day, in an otherwise unblemished weekend.
