Sydney University posted a 33-14 result over Hunter Wildfires in their Round 4 Shute Shield rugby clash played at Glen Willow Oval in Mudgee on Saturday.

The Students scored five tries to two in a dominant performance. The bonus-point win kept the University on 17 points along with Northern Suburbs on the ladder. Both teams have won three of four rounds, but Norths head the table by 11 differential points. Manly (15), Eastwood (15), Gordon (11) and Warringah (11) make up the top six.

Sydney University’s tries came from hooker Ciaran Loh, flanker Jack McCalman, wingers Simon Kennewell and Sepesa Loga-Tarogi and fullback Angus Bell while five-eighth Jude Gibbs landed three conversions and centre William Goddard added another.

The Wildfires’ tries came from winger Nafi Tuitavake and reserve fullback William Feeney, which were converted by five-eighth Connor Winchester. 

Sydney University Second Grade posted a 69-34 result over the Wildfires, while First Grade Colts won 84-17. The other two grade sides and two Colts sides had byes.

Sydney University will host Parramatta Two Blues in Round 5 clashes this Saturday.
