The Sydney University Football Club (SUFC) first grade team will head to Merrylands Rugby Park for their round 11 clash with the Parramatta Two Blues this Saturday.

“The team has taken the positives out of our loss last weekend to Eastwood and we are looking forward to this weekend’s game with the Two Blues,” said Head Coach Todd Louden.

“I was really impressed with the team’s fighting spirit, they really pushed Eastwood in the dying minutes of the game and they really fought until the final whistle.”

Parramatta has overcome some strong teams so far in the 2012 season and was able to threaten club powerhouses Eastern Suburbs and Eastwood in two very close games earlier in the season.

The Two Blues currently sit in 6th spot on the Shute Shield ladder and will be looking to cement their place this weekend before the competition splits into a top6/bottom 6 competition in round 12.

Head Coach Todd Louden is continuing to blood colts players into the 1st Grade arena with Colts Club Captain Benn Melrose named at No. 8 for SUFC’s 1st XV on Saturday.

“Benn is a gifted rugby player and exceptional person off the field as well,” said Louden.

“He shows maturity beyond his years and he will not be taking his debut lightly, he knows this is his opportunity to prove he can match it with the best in the competition.”

With Parramatta only fielding 1 colts team in the competition, Colts 1 will be playing their game at Merrylands Rugby Park on Saturday, with the side kicking off the day on the main oval before 2nd Grade.
