Sydney Uni Swim Club finished in 34th position, with 45.5 points, at the Telstra Australian Swimming Championships last week.


Final days of competition produced some outstanding swims including Matt Abood finishing 4th in the Men’s 50m LC Freestyle – narrowly missing a spot on the Australian team.


Jono Newton finished 10th, in the same race, and narrowly missed swimming in the final.


Sydney Uni ‘A’ comprised of Halliday, Pickles, McConnell and Willis, finished 9th in the men’s 4x100m Medley Relay.


Sam McConnell swam in the semi final of the Men’s 100m Butterfly and finished in a time of 55.19.


Kate Johnson swam in the Women’s 200m Butterfly and finished 18th in a time of 2.17.03.


Alistaire Pickles and James Etter swam in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke and finished 20th and 35th respectively.


Sydney Uni swimmer Zane Jordan – who finished 66th in the Men’s 50m Freestyle – will find out next month if he will be selected for the Zambia Swim Team.
