The Australian Women’s water polo team, comprising of current Elite Athlete Program members and alumnae, returned to form in the final game of their best of three test series against the USA to defeat the American hosts 5-4.

After suffering two losses 14-11 and 11-5 in the opening rounds, the Stingers matched it with the reigning Olympic Champions through their strong attacking and defensive game.

With scores locked at 4 apiece, the Stingers left their finisher to the last minute of the final quarter in the form of Nicola Zagame who scored in extra man.

The Stingers now turn their attention to the World League Super Finals in China next month before aiming to better their bronze medals from London and Beijing at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
