FCDNA/Sydney
University’s Division One netball team has secured second spot on the 2008
State League Waratah Cup ladder with one round remaining, with a ten goal
victory over Manly-Warringah on Wednesday night.

Sydney University
netballer Kate Pallister was voted the best on court for the match.

The win extends their
undefeated streak to ten matches and ensures they are in good form heading into
the finals. Win or lose next weekend, FCDNA/Sydney University will play the NSW
Institute of Sport team in the first week of the finals, with the winner
advancing straight to the Grand Final. The loser will play the winner of the match between
the third and fourth ranked teams for the other spot in the final.

FCDNA/Sydney
University’s Division Seven team also secured second spot in their competition
with a ten goal defeat of the City of Sydney team on Saturday. They now sit ten points clear of third on the
ladder, and are equal first with Manly-Warringah, but with an inferior goal
differential.

Amazingly, the Division
Seven team has lost only one game all season, a twenty goal defeat at the hands
of Minor Premiers Manly-Warringah in May. They have won their last twelve
matches, and will look to exact some revenge when they play Manly-Warringah in
the first week of the finals on Saturday for a guaranteed spot in the Grand
Final.
