Cricket

Sydney Men’s Grade competition – Semi-finals

Third Grade: Sydney University 221 off 103.3 overs (Jonathon Craig Dobson 46 not out, Nicky Craze 42, Ben Larkin 34; Luke Edgell 3-31, Joshua Wigney 2-46) defeated Manly-Warringah 146 off 41 overs (Joseph Graham 37, Warren Evans 31, Dylan Marshall 28 not out; Jonathon Craig Dobson 4-39, Jack Gibson 3-43, Ash Cowan 2-22) on the first innings at Sydney University No.1 Oval on the weekend. Toss: Manly-Warringah. Batted first: Sydney University.

In the other semi-final, Eastern Suburbs 5-110 defeated Sydney 58 on the first innings at Birchgrove Park.

Final: Sydney University versus Eastern Suburbs at Sydney University No.1 Oval this weekend, April 2 and 3, with a 10am start.

Fourth Grade: Sydney University 7-216 off 88 overs (Ryan Danne 58, Hugh Kermond 53, Matthew Powys 25 not out, Charles Cull 20; Charles Taylor 2-30, George Furrer 2-39) defeated Northern District 185 off 82.2 overs (Steven Burt 39 not out, Charles Taylor 34, Sam Heinrich 26; Lewis McMahon 4-36, Jake Day 2-18) on the first innings at Mark Taylor Oval on the weekend. Toss: Sydney University. Batted first: Northern District.

In the other semi-final, Penrith 305 defeated St George 169 on the first innings at Bill Ball Oval.

Final: Penrith versus Sydney University at Howell Oval this Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3, with a 10am start.
