Sydney Men’s Grade Cricket – Qualifying Finals

First Grade: Bankstown 7-263 off 68 overs (Jarrad Bourke 116 not out, Jake Cormack 71; Tim Ley 3-87, Nigel Cowell 2-63) d Sydney University 262 off 87.3 overs (Nick Larkin 117, Scott Henry 33,Tim Ley 22, Jonte Pattison 19; Byron Hackshall 4-66, Daryl Tuffey 2-34) on the first innings at Sydney University No.1 Oval. Toss: Sydney University. Batted first: Sydney University. In other qualifying finals Manly-Warringah defeated Penrith on the first innings, and Randwick-Petersham defeated Mosman on the first innings. The semi-finals on March 29 and 30 will see Randwick-Petersham hosting Sydney University at Coogee Oval, and Manly-Warringah hosting Bankstown at Manly Oval.

Second Grade: Sydney University 8(dec)-513 (Jack Hill 200 not out, Darius Visser 88, Will Hay 62, Adam Theobald 47; James Frank 2-56)  drew with Mosman 8-157 off 50 overs (Labib Mahmud 27 not out, Matthew Junk 23, Danul Dassanayake 22, James Frank 21; Joe Kershaw 2-10, Tom Kierath 2-29) at the Village Green. Toss: Mosman. Batted first: Sydney University. In other qualifying finals Northern District defeated Sydney on the first innings, and Gordon defeated St George on the first innings. The semi-finals on March 29 and 30 will see Sydney University and St George meeting at Sydney University No.1 Oval, and Northern District hosting Gordon at Mark Taylor Oval.

Third Grade: Sydney University 125 (Jack Holloway 30, Jack Maddocks 21, Henry Clark 21; Pat Burns 5-29, Trent Smith 4-22) and 239 (Suda Sivapalan 93, Joshua Ryan 35, Harry Watt 33 not out; Trent Smith 2-38, Lachlan Maddison 2-41) d Sutherland 116 (Joel Burnett 48, Kyle Brockley 23 not out; (Kerrod McPherson 4-19, Lewis McMahon 4-36) and 205 (Ryan Maguire 62, Tom Doyle 51; Henry Clark 3-42, Joshua Ryan 2-24) outright at Sydney University No.2 Oval. Toss: Sutherland. Batted first: Sydney University. In other qualifying finals Gordon defeated Sydney on the first innings, and Northern District d Manly-Warringah on the first innings. The semi-finals on March 29 and 30 will see Sydney University and Sydney playing at Sydney University No.2 Oval, and Northern District and Gordon meeting at Asquith Oval.

Metropolitan Cup – Qualifying-final

Western Suburbs 167 off 66 overs (James Holland 44, Ross D’Aspromonte 37, Matthew Farmer 31) d Sydney University 103 off 48 overs (no details available) by 64 runs at St Paul’s College Oval. In other qualifying finals Blacktown d Penrith on the first innings and Gordon defeated Fairfield-Liverpool on the first innings. Semi-finals will feature Gordon v Western Suburbs and Sydney University v Blacktown.

Sydney Women’s Grade Cricket – First Grade Grand Final (Limited overs)

Universities 4-199 off 50 overs (Alison Parkin 61 not out, Kate Blackwell 55, Rachael Haynes 32, Georgia Redmayne 22; Anna Horton 1-36, Roxsanne Van-Veen 1-24) d St George Sutherland 101 off 37.4 overs (Sally Moyland 26; Kate Owen 4-10, Rachael Haynes 3-12, Melissa Norup 2-21) by 98 runs at Bankstown Oval on Sunday. Universities are premiers for the 2013-14 season.

Third Grade – Semi-final

Gordon 7-205 off 40 overs (Jane Warrilow 53 not out, Kristen Dorsch 50 ret, Emma Bradwell 40; Candice Cushway 2-13, Brooke Atkins 1-22) d Universities 105 off 33 overs (Lian Lam 24, Katrina Serena 21; Jane Warrilow 5-12, Lian Lam 2-18) by 100 runs at Forsyth Park.

Brewer Shield – Semi-final (Limited overs)

Universities 9-145 off 38 overs (Serena Liu 24, Maddy Darke 21) d St George Sutherland 144 off 40 overs by one wicket at David Phillips North. Toss: Universities. Batted first: St George Sutherland. In the other semi-final, Campbelltown-Camden d Penrith by 31 runs. Universities to meet Campbelltown-Camden in the final.

Australian Club Championship

Sydney University 19 (Tom Boidin, Sam English, James Dargaville tries; Byron Hodge  2 con) d, Easts Tigers 14 (Johnny Kalavata, EJ Fa’aofa tries; Matt Brandon con) in Brisbane on Saturday. The ACC is contested by the premier Sydney and Brisbane clubs from the previous season.
