Sydney University will be playing for an 11th consecutive Club Championship in the Sydney premier grade rugby union competition when they host ninth-placed Eastern Suburbs in the final round of the competition proper at No.1 Oval on Saturday.

The Students regained the lead in the Club Championship with a clean sweep of Gordon at University Oval on Saturday. Sydney University have amassed 2927 points, just ahead of Manly (2912) and Eastwood (2854).  Manly will take on seventh-placed West Harbour at Manly Oval on Saturday, while Eastwood  will meet fourth-placed Warringah at Pittwater Rugby Park.

Manly already have the minor premiership wrapped up, heading the ladder on 75 points after 17 rounds. Eastwood (69), Sydney University (63), Warringah (61), Southern Districts (46) and Randwick (43) make up the top six, with West Harbour still in contention on 40.

Sydney University teams are still in contention in all grades, with Second Grade lying third behind Eastwood and Manly in the Colin Caird Shield, Thirds heading the Henderson Shield ladder and Fourths lying second to Eastwood in the Henderson Cup.

Sydney University Colts have already wrapped up a 10th consecutive Colts Club Championship. With one round to be played, Sydney University sit on 803 points, ahead of Northern Suburbs on 713. Sydney University head the First and Third Grade Colts competition, with Second Grade sitting in second position behind Norths.
