It was their 63rd consecutive NSW Gridiron Football League victory, and one of their most convincing yet, as the Sydney Uni Lion’s American Football team belted competition new boys the Newcastle Cobras 81-0 on Saturday.

The win kept the Lions at the top of the table, with four season wins and a 2012 for and against of 169:24.

Given the inexperience of their competition, Lions Coach Ogborne ensured that lots of his rookies received plenty of valuable game time.

Back up quarter back and former rookie Sam Darcy was particularly appreciative of his game time, racking up a receiving touchdown, passing touchdown and rushing touchdown to cap off a promising performance.

The Lions will next take on the fifth placed Wollongong Mustangs at Craik Park, Austral this Saturday night at 7pm.
