Randwick-Petersham claimed the 2011-12 Sydney Grade Twenty20 crown with a 45-run win over Sydney University at University Oval on Thursday.

Former Test spinner Nathan Hauritz earned man-of-the-match honours after scoring 23 from 18 delivers in Randwick-Petersham’s 5-181 off 20 overs, and then claiming 2-15 as the Students replied with 8-136 off their allotted overs.

After winning the toss and batting, Randwick-Petersham were well served by Adam Coyte’s 57 not out off  46, opener Usman Khawaja (34 off 16 including three boundaries and three sixes) and Nathan Price (21 not out off seven deliveries).

The Students had a disastrous start, losing openers Nick Larkin (0) and Mark Faraday (1) before Scott Henry (52 off 50) and Greg Mail (21 off 18) righted the ship.

But they were always behind in the chase, and despite late contributions from Will Somerville (16), Tom Kierath (21) and James Crowley 15), they ran out of overs.
