Sydney University Swimmer Carl Probert has been selected to represent Fiji at the Beijing Olympics (50 & 100 metre freestyle).

With his selection Probert will reach a milestone of five (5) Olympics (92,96,00,04,08) at 32 he has managed to remain competitive whilst balancing fatherhood, work and study.

Probert delivered an amazing performance in the 50m Freestyle at the Athens Olympics, finishing second in Heat 5 with a time of 23.31 – breaking the Fiji National Record and his previous personal best time by one-one hundredths of a second. He will be looking to improve on his best times in Beijing, aided by years of experience and a new Speedo swim suit Carl may just do it.

Sydney University Swimming club is very proud of Carls performances, both in and out of the water he truly represents the “student athlete” model he is a inspiration to his countrymen and all of your younger members here at the SUSC.
