Sydney Uni Sport is proud to celebrate Phoebe Cridland’s selection to represent Australia in cross-country skiing at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics Games, a milestone that marks the culmination of years of hard work on the international circuit.
Currently completing a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Law at the University of Sydney, Phoebe began her studies in 2020 after graduating from SCEGGS Darlinghurst. That same year, she joined Sydney Uni Sport’s Elite Athlete Program, balancing the demands of a double degree with the realities of international training blocks, European winters and World Cup Competition. During her early years at university, she resided at St John’s College, grounding her Olympic ambitions within the strong community of campus life.
Phoebe has steadily built her résume at the highest levels of the sport. She represented Australia at multiple World Championships and made her mark across the World Cup circuit, competing against the world’s strongest cross-country nations in Scandinavia and Europe. In 2023, she represented the Australian UniRoos at the FISU Winter World University Games in Lake Placid, proudly competing on the global student-athlete stage.
Her Olympic selection for Milano Cortina 2026 is a defining achievement. Cross-country skiing is one of the most physically demanding disciplines on the Winter Program, requiring endurance, tactical awareness and technical precision across punishing alpine courses. To qualify is a testament not only to her talent, but to her consistency and resilience over multiple seasons of elite competition.
Phoebe’s journey reflects the strength of Australia’s winter pathway and the impact of the Elite Athlete Program in supporting student-athletes to succeed at the very highest levels.
Milano Cortina 2026 will see Phoebe compete against the best cross-country skiers in the world – and for Sydney Uni Sport, her selection stands as a proud moment in the history of our student-athletes on the Olympic Stage.
