After opening the 2019 NEAFL season with big wins over Aspley and Northern Territory Thunder, Sydney University came back to earth with a five-point loss to Canberra at Henson Park on Saturday.

The sun was shining, the air was clean the grass was like a bowling green. A bumper crowd comprised of locals and those from the big city saw two heavyweights of Sydney club rugby slug it out at Mudgee’s Glen Willow Stadium last Saturday. Unfortunately University could not reach the final hurdle and went down to Eastwood 27-21.

Good Friday saw the rematch between Sydney University and the Warringah Rats. Unfortunately the tough, gallant rodents from the northern beaches could not register on the scoreboard and were defeated by a red hot Students fifteen by 50-0.

Sydney University Lions posted back-to-back wins over Fremantle Mariners in the Round 10 clashes to stay in the top six in the Men’s Australian Water Polo League.

The trusty boot of Daniel Arahu helped Sydney University to a 30-all draw with Penrith Brothers in the Round 6 Sydney Shield rugby league clash at Hickeys Park on Sunday.

Two weekends ago, both Yekaterina Yurkova and Olexandr Sheychnkov came home with Gold after representing Sydney Uni Judo Club at the 2019 NSW State Titles Kata Championship. 

Sydney University’s Australian Football Club franked its Round 1 efforts with big wins in the NEAFL, Sydney Premier Division 1, Premier Under 19 and Sydney Women’s Premier Division at the weekend.

The University of Sydney has been named Male & Female Champions at UniSport Australia’s Div 1 Nationals competition for Athletics at the weekend.
