Sydney University’s women’s AFL team turned in a dominant display to rack up a 100-1 win over Macquarie University in the opening round of the 2016 Sydney Women’s Premier Division competition.

In front of a capacity crowd at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, Sydney University Swimming Club’s Keiran Qaium narrowly missed Olympic selection after finishing third in the nation for the men’s 200m Butterfly at the 2016 Hancock Prospecting Australian Championships, 7-14 April.

West Harbour defeated Sydney University 43-34 at the Football Ground on Saturday despite the home team’s dominant pack and scoring five tries to the visitors’ four.

The men’s and women’s Sydney University soccer teams both had strong wins over the weekend. It’s been a fast start for the women winning both of their first two games, whereas the men have been able to get back on track after dropping their season opener.
