Selectors have confirmed that no fewer than 13 Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) athletes will represent Australia at the upcoming Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. It is the largest representation by SUAC at an international event, the previous record being 11 representatives at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The 2018 Riverview Gold Cup suffered from low entries due to timing and a clash with the Schoolgirl Head of the River but this year the  races provided more drama than most races over the years.
