Sydney University Rowing (a combined program of the Sydney University Boat Club and the Sydney University Women’s Rowing Club) has announced the appointment of two new coaches for the remainder of the 2009-10 season.
With the departure of the Director of Rowing, Phil Bourguignon, on December 18, Sydney University Rowing has announced that Mark Prater will take on the role of Senior Elite Coach and Acting Director, based at Lane Cove.
SUR also announced that James Macartney will fill the role of Acting Senior Coach Men/Women working with Mark in the Lane Cove elite development program. These roles will be full-time positions.
And Will Townsend will join Sydney University Rowing as Assistant Development Coach based at the Glebe boatshed in a part-time role.
Alan Bennett will continue in his capacity as Women’s Development Coach based at Glebe boatshed.
SUR placed on record its appreciation of the work done by Phil Bourguignon over the past four years. Mr Bourguignon will be taking up a coaching role in the UK in 2010.
Sydney University will advertise the position of Director of Rowing in the first half of 2010 for an appointment from June-July 2010.
