Muay Thai is a martial art and the national sport of Thailand. Fighters compete in the ring using eight limbs; their fists, elbows, knees and feet/shins.

What started as a martial art and military combat system has evolved into one of the world’s most popular combat sports. Every year hundreds of thousands of people including our members travel to Thailand to train, compete and watch Muay Thai.

Sydney Uni Muay Thai has been the home of Muay Thai and kickboxing at the University of Sydney since 1998.

The club was founded over 25 years ago by Chin-Liang (CL) Beh, who continues to oversee and teach members to this day.

Our club is open to everyone from university students to the general public. Classes cater to all levels from complete beginners to those who’d like to learn self defense and even those training for amateur fights.

All classes run in a 90-minute structured format led by one of five trainers. Classes begin with skipping and a thorough warm-up and run through plyometrics training, striking drills, pad work, bag work, fitness conditioning, sparring and games.
