The Sydney Uni men’s division one volleyball team have claimed bronze at the Manly Cup competition that was held last weekend.

The Men’s team played exceptionally well winning all games but their semi-final match.

The matchup for bronze with UNSW was always going to be tough and UNSW took the first set convincingly, 25-14.

After a strong pep talk, Sydney Uni fought back taking the second set 25-21 and the third 25-18 to record victory.

The division one women’s team finished fourth in their group after they were forced to reshuffle their regular lineup and fought strong against some very competitive opponents.

Unfortunately they were unable to secure enough sets to push through to finals.

The next major tournament will be the Newcastle State Cup, held on 13th & 14th May.

In other volleyball news, Sydney Uni’s Autumn volleyball social comp concluded last week with the following results:

Div B Winners: Setting Ducks.   Runners up: ED’s Team  3rd Place: The AB’s.   MVP ED/ED.  MIP Bshar/The AB’s.
