Sydney University 1st Grade Premiership Captain and former State opening batsman, Greg Mail has been appointed to the Cricket NSW State Selection panel.

Mail, a former Sydney Uni Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder (B. Science), is the leading run getter of all time in Sydney Grade Cricket and is expected to continue to play cricket for Sydney Uni this season.

Cricket NSW Chairman of Selectors, David Freedman, said he was delighted to welcome Mail to the Panel.

“Greg is held in the highest regard by everyone in NSW cricket. Over his 72 games for the NSW SpeedBlitz Blues, and his prolific Grade cricket performances, Greg has developed an intricate knowledge of the skills and attributes required for success at the First Class level.

“I am pleased that Greg will continue to play Grade cricket as this gives him the best seat in the house to assess our next batch of players,” he said.

In other news, Sydney University batsman and Sydney Uni EAP scholarship holder Scott Henry has deservedly been awarded a Cricket NSW State contract for the 2012/13 season.

Henry has scored over 900 runs for Sydney Uni in each of the past two seasons as well as winning the player of the finals series in the 2010/11 Premiership Final and Limited overs Final.
