Three Sydney Uni Women’s Water Polo Club (SUWWPC) representatives and one soon to be Sydney Uni player have been selected in the Australia’s women’s water polo team to tour North America next month.

Sydney Uni Lions stars Hannah Buckling, Lea Barta and Sarah Harris have all been selected in a powerful looking 13-member Stingers squad that will begin their tour on December 3 at the Canada Cup in Quebec against Canada and the USA, before lining up against Greece, Canada, Russia, the USA and the Netherlands at the Holiday Cup in California on December 11.

Buckling is also a SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder (Bachelor of Science).

Joining them in the squad is Isobel Bishop – a marquee recruit for the Sydney University Lions women’s water polo team when the 2014 National League season kicks off in February.

Bishop is moving to Sydney from Adelaide and will link up with the Lions for pre-season training in January.

Fellow Lions star Keesja Gofers was unlucky to miss out on the Stingers squad after being cut from the original 17-player squad earlier this month.

The Stingers will leave Australia on December 1.
