Sydney University Lions’ Keesja Gofers, Hannah Buckling, Lea Yanitsas, Bronte Halligan and Isobel Bishop have all been named in the Australian Stingers Olympic water polo squad.
Making the 21 to 16 players cut, our strong women’s water polo talent have now taken their next step on the road to Rio.
The announcement comes as our aspiring Olympians prepare for a three-Test series against China in late January following a training camp in Perth where all players will be given the chance to impress selectors.
The final team of 13 for Rio 2016 will be selected from this pool in June.
The Aussie Stingers are shooting for another podium finish after their bronze medal at the London Olympics.
