Sydney University Sports Scholarship holder Nicholas Jenik has successfully made it through the first round of the inaugural Technifibre – Sydney Uni Sport and Fitness Open Grasscourt Championship.
Jenik, originally from Argentina, is studying for a Master of International Business at the University of Sydney.
As the No. 6 seed, Jenik defeated Diego Quinones (unseeded) 7-6 (5), 6-1.
Jenik will now take on unseeded Henry Mortlock in the second round and, if successful, will advance to the quarter-finals.
The competition is being held at the Lawn Tennis Courts, Manning Road at the University of Sydney.
The Grand Final will be held on Friday, September 25 with local community members urged to come along and check out the talent.
