More than 50 Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) athletes competed at the NSW Championships over the weekend bringing home an incredible 15 Open State medals with a further six U/23 state titles.

Gold medals and Open NSW championships went to Michael Pratomo (Discus), Sarah Clifton- Bligh (2 golds – Club throw and 1500 WC), Nicola McDermott (High Jump), Rohan Browning (100) and Mackenzie Little (Javelin).

In the U23 category SUAC had a further six state champions.

Brianna Gibson (Javelin with a personal best), Tom Davies (1500, another personal best), Sean Szalek (High Jump), Bec Bennett (200m), Obbssa Youssouf (800) and Brooke East (Long Jump).

Silver medalists at the championships included Larissa Pasternatsky (100 and 200, including a slightly windy 11.61), Holly Campbell (1500), Joseph Ryan (1500 in a huge PB), Nick Hough (110 Hurdles, in 13.46- the fastest 2nd place time in the history of the event) and Annie Rubie (400m).

Bronze medals went to Connor Murphy (TJ), Katrina Blackett (Javelin) and Lachlan Raper (800).

State Championship finallists (not already mentioned) included Georgia Wassall (800), Lucy Mauviel (1500), Nick Van Gelder (Long Jump), Tom Galvin aka The Ironman finalist in 4 events (LJ/PV/SP/Javelin), Shakti Rathore (200), Tom Mackenzie-Wood (200), Jin Su Jung (100), Carl Coorey-Ewings (100), Frau Grun (Javelin).

Semi-finalists at the championships (not already mentioned) included Bec Bennett (100), Mia Economou (100), Em Duve (100), Shakti Rathore (100), Harry Fullerton (100), Sally Guthrie (400), Damien Mizzi (400).

The next outing for the club will be this coming Thursday night at the Canberra Track Classic.
