This Saturday Sydney University Women’s Australian Football League Club (SUWAFLC) representative Meredith Gray will join elusive company when she plays her 150th game of women’s AFL.

A milestone reached by just a handful of women ever in NSW and the ACT, Gray’s achievement are even more remarkable because all of those games have been played for the one club.

Gray was a founding member of SUWAFLC and the Sydney Women’s AFL competition, which commenced in 2000. She has made significant contributions to the club since that time, on and off the field.

A true champion of the women’s game, Gray has previously played representative football for NSW and continues her on field wizardry in 2013. Whether it be in attack or defence, Gray continues to bemuse her opposition by taking fantastic marks, playing clever football and using her long range kick for effective disposals or to score goals.

Off the field, Gray’s commitment to the club and her team mates has been unwavering in the 13 years of her affiliation with the club and her loyalty and dedication is second to none. Gary is forever passing on her knowledge of the game, helping out, educating the club’s rookies, and sharing the blue and gold spirit.

Gray will play her 150th game at St Pauls Oval, Sydney University on Saturday at 10.30am when the third placed Sydney Uni women take on the fifth placed Newtown Breakaways in round 7 of the AFL Sydney Women’s Division 1 competition.
