Sydney Uni Netball Club (SUNC) Coach Mo’onia Gerrard has been announced in a group of 11 up-and-coming coaches to attend the 2014 Netball Australia Targeted Coach Program that will be hosted out of Netball Australia’s new Centre of Excellence in Canberra throughout the year.

Gerrard, a former Sydney Swifts’ Co-Captain and Australian Diamond, will pass on her elite playing experience to eager young netballers as Specialist Defensive Coach for the Australian 19/U Team.

The Targeted Coach Program provides development opportunities for identified coaches within national programs and national camps, and aims to provide them with continued development and learning under the guidance of experienced national coaches.

“This is a great achievement as Mo’onia is in the process of completing components of her Netball accreditation,” said SUNC Operations Manager Sam Dawes.

Gerrard’s CSNA/Sydney Uni team have started the Waratah Cup Dooleys State League competition with two wins, a draw and two loses from its first five games. They next take on Liverpool City on Wednesday evening.
