The two Australian teams, which featured four Sydney University Ultimate Frisbee Club athletes, each finished fourteenth at the World Junior Ultimate Championships in Lecco, Italy, last week.

Arun Sharma and Chris Scammell were members of the Aussie Thunder boys’ team, while Sarah Perkins (co-captain) and Eunice Cheung represented the Southern Terra girls’ team.

Southern Terra opened the tournament with a 17-9 loss to Latvia and had pool matches against Great Britain and Columbia.

The Australian boys also opened the tournament with a loss to Columbia but rebounded to defeat Latvia 17-15 in their second pool match. They had other pool matches against Russia and Sweden and Italy.

The World Ultimate Club Championships will get under way next week at the same venue in Lecco, Italy.

Sydney University Frisbee Club has players competing on four teams across three divisions: Alex Ladomatos (Colony, Open Division), Nathan Stacey (Batmania, Mixed Division), Philip White (Roadkill, Mixed Division), Hayley Lambert and Laura Manescu (Rogue, Women’s Division).
